The market has ended sharply lower. The Sensex ended down 231.94 points or 0.8 percent at 26515.24 and the Nifty was down 90.95 points or 1.1 percent at 8170.80. About 1107 shares advanced, 1544 shares declined, and 132 shares were unchanged. ONGC, TCS, NTPC, Sun Pharma and L&T were gainers while Asian Paints, Axis Paints, Bajaj Auto, Hero MotoCorp and Tata Motors are losers in the Sensex.
