The previous government did nothing on corruption but I will not spare anyone who tries to stash black money in India or aboard, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said on Sunday. Speaking in Goa, the PM broke down mid-way during the speech and said he had left his home, family and possessions for the nation. “I was not born to sit on a chair of high office. Whatever I had, my family, my home-I left it for nation.”

“I know the forces up against me, they may not let me live. They may ruin me because their loot of 70 years is in trouble, but I am prepared,” Modi said. Modi said his government’s decision to demonetise Rs 500 and Rs 1,000 notes has given many people sleepless nights.
