Rupee opens higher at 71.45 per dollar


The Indian rupee opened higher by 19 paise at 71.45 per dollar on Tuesday versus previous close 71.64.

It is trading at highest level since September 4.

The dollar-rupee November contract on the NSE was at 71.63 in the previous session. November contract open interest increased 0.06% in the previous session, said ICICIdirect.

We expect the USD-INR to meet supply pressure at higher levels. Utilise upsides in the pair to initiate short positions, it added.
