Airline major Jet Airways on Wednesday said it will deploy the largest aircraft in its fleet -- Boeing 777-300 ER -- to meet the growing demand on the Mumbai-Singapore route. "It will allow us to enhance our capacity significantly, addressing the demand for more seats on the route, at a time when trade and investment between India and Singapore is witnessing a healthy growth,” Gaurang Shetty, whole-time Director, Jet Airways, was quoted in a statement, as saying.
According to the airline, deploying the largest aircraft in its fleet on the route will increase the capacity by 50 per cent on this key sector. "With effect from August 6, 2016, the Jet Airways flight 9W 12 from Mumbai to Singapore and the return flight 9W 10 from Singapore to Mumbai will operate on a Boeing 777-300 ER aircraft," the statement said.
"Similarly, flight 9W 09 from Mumbai to Singapore and the return flight 9W 11 from Singapore to Mumbai will operate on a Boeing 777-300 ER aircraft with effect from August 7, 2016." The airline elaborated that the B777 aircraft will also boost its cargo ferrying capacity on the sector.
