Benchmark indices ended the session on a negative note, with the Nifty closing below 9650-mark.
The Sensex closed down 57.92 points at 31213.36, while the Nifty was lower by 16.65 points at 9647.25. The market breadth as negative as 1,326 shares advanced against a decline of 1,354 shares, while 177 shares were unchanged.
Pharma stocks Dr Reddy’s Labs and Sun Pharma gained the most, while GAIL and TCS were the top losers on both indices.
